Broad content ideas only help up to a point. This is why I started the “How I’d Post If I Were Your Social Media Manager” series.
You can give ten businesses the same list of prompts, and each one should still end up with different content.
A consultant selling ongoing advisory support should not post like a beach resort with three years of unused videos. A founder growing a newsletter needs a different strategy from a restaurant trying to help more local customers find the place.
So this series looks at a specific business, service, audience, or goal and asks one question: What would I post if I were responsible for turning this business into a clear social media direction?
The answer usually begins with the services the business wants to grow, the clients it wants more of, the questions those clients ask, and the knowledge already sitting inside the business.
Here are the editions so far.

Why I do not use the same content pillars for every business
I understand why generic content pillars are popular. They give you somewhere to begin.
Education. Inspiration. Promotion. Entertainment. Behind the scenes.
Fine.
The problem starts when the categories become the strategy. Two businesses might both publish educational content while needing completely different outcomes.
One business needs to explain an unfamiliar service. Another needs to correct a common misunderstanding. Another needs to show proof. Another needs to reach a different type of client. Another needs to reduce the number of basic questions asked during sales calls.
“Educational content” does not tell you which information the business needs to communicate.
I would rather begin with:
- What does your business want to grow?
- What do prospective clients need to understand?
- What keeps them from moving forward?
- What does your business know that the public rarely sees?
- What proof supports your work?
- Where is your current content disconnected from your priorities?
The posts come after those decisions.

A social media manager should see more than the next post
When I write one of these editions, I am not trying to prove that I can produce a long list of creative ideas.
Content ideas are easy to collect. The more important work is deciding why a business should publish an idea, which service it supports, who needs to see it, and what the reader should understand afterward.
That is also how I approach social media strategy and management through Content Hub Studio.
You bring the business priorities, client knowledge, proof, and experience. I turn them into content directions, finished posts, repurposed materials, and consistent execution.
I will keep adding new editions to this page as the series grows.
And yes, I have several unfinished ones sitting in my notes already.
